“Red, White, and Country Blues”

I love my daddy and I love my mommy, and my mommy and daddy love me.
Now I’ve got my children and I’ve got my wife and my country, it’s got me.
My wife needs a new dress, my kids need shoes and I’ve gotta pay my bills.
But I lost my job now, think I’ll make it somehow, but my country it’s got me.

RED, WHITE, AND COUNTRY BLUES,
RED, WHITE, AND COUNTRY BLUES.
THINGS WILL BE ALRIGHT.
LET’S STICK TOGETHER,
MAKE THE COUNTRY BETTER
GET OUT OF THESE COUNTRY BLUES, COUNTRY BLUES.

News on the radio, violence on a TV show, my wife has said goodbye.
Mary’s having a baby, Johnny joined the Navy, but my country it’s got me.
I woke up this morning; I was alone and I knew what I had to do.
I had to stop drinking so I could start thinking and get out of these Country Blues.

RED, WHITE, AND COUNTRY BLUES,
RED, WHITE, AND COUNTRY BLUES.
THINGS WILL BE ALRIGHT.
LET’S STICK TOGETHER,
MAKE THE COUNTRY BETTER
GET OUT OF THESE COUNTRY BLUES, COUNTRY BLUES.

I found a job, my wife is comin’ home and my bills are gettin’ paid.
Well, I love my family, and I love my country, and my country still needs me.

RED, WHITE, AND COUNTRY BLUES,
RED, WHITE, AND COUNTRY BLUES.
EVERTHING’S ALRIGHT.
LET’S STICK TOGETHER,
MAKE THE COUNTRY BETTER
GET OUT OF THESE COUNTRY BLUES, COUNTRY BLUES.

RED, WHITE, AND COUNTRY BLUES,
RED, WHITE, AND COUNTRY BLUES.
EVERTHING’S ALRIGHT.
LET’S STICK TOGETHER,
MAKE THE COUNTRY BETTER
GET OUT OF THESE COUNTRY BLUES, COUNTRY BLUES.
BLUES – RED, WHITE AND COUNTRY BLUES.

Why I wrote the Song:

As I was reflecting about what our Country was going through, it seemed as though our Country was having some blues….. so the title of the song came to mind. I felt that even though we were having some hard times, there was hope for us and I still love this great Country. With pen in hand, the words flowed and “Red, White and Country Blues” was born.
