He has had the privilege of performing his touching ballad America Forever at the White House & Don’t Tread on Old Glory was the first song ever to be read into the Congressional Record (1989). Another song which he composed, I’m Walking in the Footsteps of Your Mind, was the last request & final song played for Gary Gilmore, the first man to be executed in 25 years in Utah. The song was mentioned in the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, “The Executioner’s Song” written by Norman Mailer. Besides writing patriotic songs, he also writes & sings about finding love, dreams, God & more. He sings clear-voiced & honest, with free flowing melodies & a can’t-sit-still beat. Russ is also a down-home kind of guy. He loves people & has often said, “You learn a lot from traveling & meeting people. I guess the most important thing is that people everywhere have a lot in common… their joys, their dreams, their tragedies & their hope for a better tomorrow.” His talents have caught the eye of publicist to the stars, Danise Cortese of Danie Cortese Entertainment, who is currently taking his music career to the next level.
