About Russ Marsh
Songwriter, recording artist and entertainer, Russ Marsh is a former Marine, with a great love for his country and fellow Americans.
Besides being a vibrant and dynamic performer, leaving his audience energized and inspired, he touches the heart and souls of countless listeners with his original lyrics and music.
Russ Marsh inspired to write “I Want To Live”
In August of 2015, when I saw the Planned Parenthood abortion videos, I was horrified by the knowledge of their activities of harvesting baby parts for money. I was very emotionally affected by that and I prayed to God to ask for forgiveness for the atrocities committed by us as human beings. Soon after, I received an impression that I had to write a song. I hadn’t written a song in 2 years and was wondering if I could do it. Suddenly the title of the song came to my mind: I Want To Live.
I wrote a few lines, but I kept telling myself that I couldn’t do it. Nonetheless, I kept getting the impression: Write the song.
I struggled with it for a couple of weeks and finally, I gave in and let the Spirit guide me with the song. All of a sudden the words just came to my mind. I felt that the unborn children did not have a chance to speak for themselves and I was impressed to write from the point of view of the Unborn Child. All of this occurred while my wife Cathy was visiting her homeland of Malaysia. I had just finished the song upon her return to our home in Arizona, and I was anxious to share it with her. When I played the song for Cathy, tears just flowed down her face and she strongly felt that it was an inspired song and that it was indeed a voice for the Unborn Child.
I hope that you will be touched by I Want To Live, for this song is only possible through the Hand of God, right from the lyrics, the music arrangement, the musicians and singers coming together, as well as the design of the album cover.
My special thanks to my producer, Brian Jensen and my recording engineer, Cliff Maag for bringing this song to life within the shortest time possible.

Russ Marsh feels everyone would be “Lonely Without A Song”
Music has always been very much a part of Russ’ life ever since he watched his mother play the guitar and sing when he was little. He has been through the highs and the lows in his music career. One day, while Russ was in his bus going back home, he dug deep into his pocket and found only two dollars. Even though he was at his lowest point then, he knew that he did not want to go back to working on the farm. In Russ’ thoughts, he felt that he would be so lonely if he were not able to have a song to sing. He was determined to keep his dream alive, that’s when he penned Lonely Without A Song, thus an inspiration for this new album.
Except for Louisiana Man and Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin (The Moon Speaks For My Heart), this album is a compilation of the songs Russ has written through the years, some with his sister Jacque, and his sons, Jeremy and Jason.
The songs on this album range from being refreshing, delightful and invigorating to mellow, tender and warm; with each song being unique in its own way. Lonesome Highway, My Home is an absolutely engaging song that will speak to your soul while the other songs will speak to your heart in different ways.
Russ Marsh: A-M-E-R-I-C-A
With this A-M-E-R-I-C-A album, Russ Marsh has produced a collection of songs that is brimming with red, white, and blue sentiments in a country bruised black & blue by hatred and violence. Making it his mission to keep the patriotic flame burning brighter in every American’s heart was foremost in Russ’ thoughts, which inspired him to write the songs for this album
Russ feels that he has a responsibility to uphold the American Constitution and to pass on the noble values of the founding fathers to the next generation of Americans through his song, “Keepers of the Flame”. He has had the privilege of performing his touching ballad “America Forever” at the White House, and “Don’t Tread on Old Glory” was the first song ever to be read into the Congressional Record. “We’re American Made” proudly displays Russ’ affection for his fellow Americans regardless of skin color or ethnic origin, only unified by the stars and stripes. “Stand Up One More Time” continues the rally call with youthful exuberance and deep passion.
This is exactly what this country needs right now.
“I hope all who listen to this CD will feel the love for this country as I do.”

Congressional Record – Senate
“Mr. President, during the recent August recess, I had the opportunity to visit my home State of Utah and listen to the response of Utahns to many national issues, including the flag-burning issue. The vast majority of Utahns are extremely upset at the Supreme Court’s recent decision, and the following song is typical of their response. `Don’t Tread on Old Glory’ was sung to me at a recent Nephi, UT, town meeting. The words were written by Russ Marsh and Jacque Mounteer, and the music was written by Russ Marsh and Larry Seely.” – Senator Orrin Hatch
Russ Marsh introduces: Walking In The Footsteps Of Your Mind
Due to repeated requests from his fans, Russ Marsh has decided to re-release his hit song, WALKING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF YOUR MIND in this new album with four tunes which have never been released before: I Wanna Be Your Love Song, Don’t Ever Say Goodbye, Penny Love, and I Never Knew Love Until I Met You, a song inspired by his wife, Cathy.
Russ hopes that the other songs which have been remixed and remastered for this album will become some of your favorites too.
The Story of “Walking in the Footsteps of Your Mind”
It was a cold pre-dawn morning that January 17th 1975 when Russ Marsh looked up from his work to check the time – 3:10 am. He had struggled for hours to complete the new song he was writing, “Don’t Ever Say Good-bye”. An eerie feeling had pursued him through the night; his thoughts kept turning to death – and to the beginnings of yet another song. Finally, he gave into the new inspiration and began to write “Walking in the Footsteps of Your Mind”. It came quickly, and proved to be one of Russ’ most moving songs.
